Thanksgiving Day has always been my favorite holiday — the temperatures are finally dropping (below 80!), delicious holiday treats and cocktails are in abundance, the sales (oh the sales!), and South Florida is abuzz with “the season” officially in full-swing. As the holiday approaches, I’m frequently asked by clients what to wear to Thanksgiving dinner that is both chic and comfortable, so I’ve put together below my top holiday looks for every type of Thanksgiving celebration. Whether your family feasts at lunch or dinner (or both, no judgements!), your Thanksgiving outfit should be loose and comfortable – after all, you will be indulging in turkey, stuffing, pies and everything in-between!
For those of you who will spend your day cooking, watching holiday movies and stealing fistfuls of holiday treats from the kitchen, dress up your leggings or jeans with a trendy burgundy blouse that flows and forgives. For a sexier yet shockingly comfortable look, opt for a deep V-neck floral bodysuit paired with jeans.
If your family’s tradition is a more formal affair, or you need to dress to impress at your boyfriend’s family’s Thanksgiving dinner, opt for seasonal dresses and blouses in fall hues like deep golds, burnt oranges and dark florals.
Hot tip: wrap dresses like the Lost and Wander Dawn Wrap Mini Dress are perfect for Thanksgiving because you can adjust the fit of the dress based on how many trips you make to the buffet. Jumpsuits like the MinkPink Aries jumpsuit are also a great option because they give you lots of room to move around – especially if you’re helping out in the kitchen like the great houseguest you are!
For a Friendsgiving that will likely end with all your besties gathered at your favorite neighborhood bar, opt for bold metallics and micro pleats. Both trends are super hot this year and when combined, they make for the perfect festive look that will undoubtedly turn eyes. We love the ultra-flattering Moon River Metallic Pleated Mini Skirt paired with a black turtleneck, pulled all together with a thick waist belt by Ada Collection.
All of the above can be styled with delicate jewelry and some booties for a gorgeous fall look!
