give-back-quote2

With Lilac and Lilies recognition and growth, I have made it a point to give back to causes that are near and dear to the hearts of our staff, customers and myself. In fact, I originally established the company with the mission of empowering women through all facets of their lives, not just through fashion.

We accomplish this by raising awareness for a number of different charities throughout the year.  Being active in the community is a way to bring about a sense of accomplishment while giving back to others in need.  In turn, our staff is really motivated about raising money and donating time to the charities they are passionate about.

Lilac and Lilies’ philanthropic spirit also fosters an amazing work environment that attracts top talent looking to feel inspired every day. I know charitable activities engage our employees, fostering a meaningful opportunity for them to bond and share their personal values while acting in unison toward a common goal.

Committed to this meaningful and successful culture, Lilac And Lilies works with numerous charities throughout the year including The Humane Society of Broward County, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Cure SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy), and most recently, Kids in Distress (KID).

Personally, I dedicate time every Thursday to Kids In Distress (KID), a licensed nationally accredited agency working for the prevention of child abuse, preservation of the family, and the treatment of abused and neglected children. I work with the kids during their after school care program where I help with homework, play games and assist with dinner. It has by far been the most rewarding thing I have ever done. It is the best feeling in the world to see a smile on a child’s face!

When fashion and philanthropy merge, socially significant issues get showcased on a grander and more dazzling platform. It is essential that we, as established people in the fashion industry, lead by example and make a solid commitment to giving back.

Giving isn’t just about money.  The benefit of providing time, skills or even mentoring provides self-satisfaction and encouragement toward the greater good of one’s community.
