How did you get to where you are today?
By staying focused on my visions, working HARD everyday. Learning that disappointment can be an amazing teacher. Learning that failure can be the steeping stones to success. By never listening to the negative things people may say about you and your business. And most importantly listening to your heart and living in your passion.

What is your elevator pitch on what you do?
I teach a 75min hot fusion yoga class that has great music and great message to get you thinking about life and help you destress. You create immense strength and flexibility on a deep physical and mental level.  It is a great workout and work-IN

How do you define success? Do you consider yourself “successful”?
I define success by living in purpose, by offering myself in service to people. Staying balanced with my career, being a good mother and wife, and taking care of myself physically, mentally and spiritually, and by having financial freedom. Yes I consider myself extremely successful.

12512314_678044982337176_5505402063815327741_nWhat have been some of the most rewarding things in your career thus far?
The most rewarding part has been to see how something I created with my business partner and best friend Kelly Green, change so many people’s lives for the better. To be a part of peoples lives and their healing has been amazing to say the least. To see my visions and dreams come true is so rewarding.

What have been some of your mistakes? What have you learned from them?
I know I have said it already but my mistakes all seem to stem from not trusting my gut, and going against my intuition. What I am now leaning, is to stand in my power and listen to that little voice inside.

What do you still want to achieve personally and/or professionally?
Wow this is a hard one, I am in the expansion phase of company and my goal is to have 100 + studios. I am only 37 so I have a lot to achieve personally and professionally and I don’t plan to stop until I am dead!

Who has been your greatest inspiration?
The students have been my greatest inspiration. People come to yoga for many reasons, and many come under some dark, dark, dark circumstances. To know their stories and how they are stepping on their mats while going through chemo, mourning the death of a child,  loss of loved ones, divorce, loss of a job… the list goes on and on. To watch them go through all this and continue to show up in life is such a gift to be around.

When was the last time you were overwhelmed and cried from something provoked by work?
I recently found out that some people that were working for me had been talking negatively about me, and some of my life choices and decision. I thought these people were my friends even consider them like family.  To have these people turn on me was one of the hardest things I have had to come to terms with and I spent some time crying over it and feeling overwhelmed. I will tell you now that I have taken some time to reflect it was such a blessing in disguise.

How has your career affected your personal life/relationships?
The more I expand my company the busier I get, that requires me to be very organized and use my time wisely, that means making lots of dates with my husband, kids and friends. I literally have to pencil them in.. I know that sound crazy but it works for me and everyone feels like they “get me” …  My career has affected my relationships in such an amazing way. I have made friendships with people that have inspired me and push me to greatness.

Have you ever thought about giving up? What provokes those thoughts?
Giving up has never been an option for me. I truly believe in my heart that everyone in the world could benefit from a daily yoga practice and I think that is why I am here to share yoga with the world. That keeps me going!

What causes you anxiety/sleepless nights?
Well I have to be honest; I do yoga everyday so I don’t have many sleepless nights. I am super blessed to be a great sleeper.

What makes you happy?
Being able to spend time with my husband and kids makes me happy. I am blessed to have created a company where my business partner is my best friend and our corporate team consists of all my best friends and strong powerful women who build each other up. Saying that I get to spend lots of time with my friends because we work together, so being able to spend time with my family, traveling, watching movies, going on walks with our dogs, going to the beach, having dinners and just relaxing at home makes me HAPPY.

What advice would you tell your 21 year old self?
To love yourself, not take the way people behave personally, and to trust your first instincts they are always right.

What is the biggest misconception about what you do?
That I have it all figured out. People assume I have everything figured out and I am just a work in progress doing my best.
